Good day,
Can you please let me know if we can still connect a MCU USB to the USB data signals, D+ D-, and use it for a normal USB connection once the power management is complete?

Charles

Hi Charles,
Please elaborate a bit further on your case in terms of MCU/INPUT. It is slightly unclear based on the description provided.
Thanks,
Nouman
Hello Nouman,
I would like to connect the MCU to the USB bus but I don’t know if the USB data bus needs to have a switch to connect to the charger and then switched to the MCU or can both the MCU and the MP2722 use the USB data lines simultaneously?
Regards,
Charles
Hi Charles,
D+/D- is for USB detection. For this charger, MCU and USB cannot share the same data lines.

Nouman
Sorry for the late response.
I’ll mark this as solved.
I apologize for the openning a closed thread after a year, but could you expand on what leaving the D- and D+ connections floating mean for the MP2722?
I’m facing the same issue- I want to use the MP2722 for charging and and as a BMS, and at the same time connect the D-&D+ lines to an MCU for USB2 data communication.
If the MP2722 is not a valid solution, could you point me to a BMS which is?
Thanks!
