MP2722 issue with USB-C charger

I appreciate your support in the past. I am working on bringing up the board which has MP2722 as the charger IC.

MP2722 works with a USB-A charger but I have an issue with charging the battery using a USB-C charger and USB C to C cable.

When I connect the board to a USB A charger using a USB C to A cable, VBUS 5V is on and MP2722 works fine. The input current limit is 2A. When I connect the board to a USB C port on a PC using a USB C to C cable, VBUS 5V is on and MP2722 works fine. The input current limit is 1.5A.

However, when I connect the board to a USB C charger using a USB C to C cable, the voltage on CC pin is 800mV voltage on but there is no VBUS. Could you please advise what I should do to work with a USB-C charger? Please check the sch and let me know if you need any information from me.

Thanks a lot.

Hello Peter,

I looked over the schematic for the MP2722 and it resembles the one in our datasheet.

Interesting that it works in the other cases. Are you able to communicate with this device over i2c? if so can you provide the values for all registers 11h-16h.

Thanks
