Dear technical team
I’m designing a battery charger to operate with a solar panel or USB power input. The MP2721 is the ideal product for our system. The panel produces 17.4V at MP. Eventually it can generate a 21.7V open circuit.
Both voltages are well below the absolute maximum of 26V, but my question is if the chip can operate at these voltages, specially at 17.4V or if it needs a pre-regulator. (or a panel that produces a lower voltage)
Thanks in advantage
Ignacio
Hi,
I will not recommend you to operate at 17.4V because our recommended operating condition for Vin is 3.9V to 16V. So I think you should lower the voltage.
Sincerely,
Fox
Hi Fox
And what product for the same purpose can you suggest me to operate at 17.4 Volts?
Cheers
Ignacio
Hi,
I will recommend MP2760. The upper limit of Vin is 22V. MP2760 also provides narrow-voltage DC power path management.
Sincerely,
Fox
Hi.
Do you have an ICs optimised for charging lithium cells with solar that have MPPT
