MP2710 registers

Hello,

Does the MP2710 store its registers when the battery is disconnected (without VIN)?

Thank you.

Hello, welcome to the MPS Forums!

Once the power is removed at Vin and the battery, any data in the registers are lost and return to their default state because the MP2710 does not have non-volatile memory capability. It would be worthwhile to see any conditions where registers are reset to their default values in the MP2710 datasheet for more details on this.

You would need to reprogram quickly or have some sort of external non-volatile memory via an MCU.

Krishan

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. It is clear to me now.

Hey @Krishan.FAE , are you sure? It looks like the 2710 does have OTP (one-time programmable) memory.

Hello Kevin,

What I clarified in the earlier question was that removing power at Vin and the battery and any data in the registers are lost and return to their default state after being changed assuming that OTP was not already set and register values were loaded in a volatile fashion since this is used for initial evaluation.

I should have clarified that the non-volatile setting of OTP that would be “stored” would be setting the OTP. Sorry about the confusion.

Best,
Krishan
