MP2672 not A version not accepting register writes

This is mostly for clarification. Does the red explicit OTP warning in the register descriptions for the MP2672 mean that it cannot be written too? Part charges fine on power up but I cannot change any of the internal settings. I can read them though. This red writing appears to be the only difference with the A version data sheet so perhaps I need to purchase the A version instead of the regular version?

For the MP2672, have you already written to NVM? If so, that is perhaps why you can’t write anything or change any internal settings.

The MP2672A also has certain one-time programmable registers as well, so I would encourage you to review these registers in the -A version of the datasheet.

The packages of these two battery chargers have the same package and pinout, so this would be simple to swap and test.
