MP2633 charging mode clarification

Hi,

In MP2633, there is two mode - Charging mode and Boost mode. I have question in Charging mode like when my VIN is +5V and I have set Vsys at 5V then what will be the priority for MP2633 to charge the battery or give direct +5V on Vsys?

Also, is there any possibility to use boost mode in presence of VIN?

The SYS pin is used to obtain the output. The SYS pin has no influence on the mode of operation of the chip.

To set mode of operation please refer to the table below:

So to answer your question the chip is in boost mode when Vin is less than Vbatt +300mV, Pwin is less than 0.8 V or greater than 1.15V ACOK bar is High and Mode is set to High.

Now, my only querie is when VIN is at 5V so, what will be the chip’s first priority i.e. to charge the battery or give enough current to Vsys rail?

In presence of a input voltage the IC will automatically go into charge mode.

It means when VIN is present we never get voltage on VSYS? Please confirm.
