MP2624 Input current regulation and target battery voltage

Hello,

I have a MP2624. I had several tests where my lipo battery starts at about 3.9V. I configured MP2624 with charge current at about 1.9A and input current limit at default (1.8A). I expected to measure about 1.8A in input while it never exceeds about 1.2A. Charger is a wall adapter, so MP2624 in DCP/CDP mode.

Further, I set battery voltage target at 4.2V. Even modifying I_BF current, it never reaches 4.2. From datasheet curves it seems it should reach constant voltage then decrese current until I_BF. Anything to suggest?

Hi @luca.vallone85,

Do you have any resistor connected in the ILIM pin? MP2624 selects the lower one of the I2C and resistor setting for its input current limit setting.

Is the termination function enabled? REG05[7]=1? and also can you check if there is any fault signal asserted during this?
