Mp2617h usb typ c

Dear MPS Team,
i have created an Battery Charger Board with the MP2617H (see attach).
I want to load the Battery with USB Typ C.
I set the ISET Resistor to 2A and the ILIM Resistor to 2A.
If i messure the Icharg i get 400mA only.

Do you now where the problem is?

Doesn’t USB-C have a bunch more pins?? Specifically the CC pins I believe are used to negotiate voltage and current limits from the USBC power delivery device. You can ask up to 5A although past 3 I believe the upstream device checks to see that your cable is rated for it.

Hello Mr Jshannon,
your right, normaly usb c have more pins.
But I need the usb just to load the device.
I do not need data communication.
In attach you will see an usb schematic from Sparkfun, here the link : SparkFun USB-C Breakout - BOB-15100 - SparkFun Electronics
Thanks for support !
Have a nice day.
Best Regards
Sebastian

So how much power can you extract on the breakout board?

I can extract 2.5 Ampere on the Board.

Best Regards
Sebastian

Oh, sounds like a problem with the MPS chip then. (ducks)! there must be some place to get support.

I have three of this boards.
The boards were build by JLCPCB.
And i have the problem with all of these boards.
So were do you think can the problem be?

Is it possible for you to test this chip with an USB port?

Many thanks !

Good Day,
any news about this problem?
Have a nice weekend.

Best regards Sebastian
