We are planning to use the MP2617B for the power management of our device. We are in the process of choosing an appropriate battery. Is this module compatible with both Lithium Ion NMC batteries, as well as Lithium Ion Polymer Batteries (Pouch cells) ?

It can work well with Li-ion Polymer batteries, however for NMC, considering typical voltage capacity range is around 3.7V. It does not meet Vbatt_reg of 4.2 for this device.
We do have other chargers that can meet 3.6V battery regulation voltage like MP2696A/B.
