My battery (18650) does not have a thermistor, and to save production time I do not want to add one. Will the MP2607 still function correctly if the NTC pin is left floating? Or does it absolutely require data from the NTC pin to charge and power the system load?
Additionally, I’d like to ground the CEB and MODE pin permanently, so that way it is always enabled when a USB source is detected and it will only be powered via USB. Are there any recommendations to do this, or can I just wire them directly?

We recommend not floating the NTC pin since it has critical role in the operation of this IC.
You can set up a resistor divider that keeps the voltage in the “operating normally” range.
Please refer to section “Resistor Choose for NTC Sensor” in the Application Information section in the data sheet.
MODE and CEB pin can be directly connected to GND. Please refer to our EVB datasheet on how this is implemented.
