MP2491C 0.5V output

Hi,

I’m sorry but this might be a very obvious question… But I’ve been looking in to using the MP2491C for a application requiring very low voltages (0.5V) and this IC seems like a good fit. Input is rather flexible. Required output current is not that high (less than 1 A).

However, I can’t wrap my head around how this would be configured to achieve 0.5 V output. I’ve been studying the datasheet and guide to the eval board EVL2491C-QB-00A. I can see how we would select the fb-resistors to achive “5V output and 0.5V ref”. Doesn’t that just mean that I will end up with 5V out? I can’t utilize the 0.5V as an actual output, this is just used internally to set the output?

Sorry once again for potentially asking about the obvious.
BR,
Jonathan

Hi,

You can use Vref as 0.5V and set R1 to be 0. Then you will get a 0.5V output voltage.
