MP24833-A Buck Boost Setup maximal LED voltage

Hello, I plan to use the MP24833-A in buck boost configuration with an input voltage of 24V. Is it possible with this LED driver to achieve a LED voltage of up to 60V? What is the maximum LED voltage in case of an buck boost configuration?

I don’t think so. In the buck boost configuration the voltage stress is Vin +Vout which would be 84V in your case. Higher than the 55V rating. Given the 55V switch, there is really no configuration that would work with a 60V LED

Hello @p.marchhart,

The MP24833-A can operate from 4.5 V - 55 V input range for step-down applications. The part cannot support more than the absolute maximum ratings section in the DS.

If the supply voltage is 24 V and the desired output is 60 V constant then we also have boost LED drivers available.

Best,
Saquib
