MP2313 - efficiency for very low output current

Good Morning,

I’d like to ask why is the efficiency if MP2313 shown only for output current down to 10mA; what happens for lower currents?

I’m using the MP2313 to generate the 3.3V digital power of my system, which is battery-powered (2s1p Li-Ions battery pack, 7.2V nominal voltage, usable voltage range 6-8.2V).

I have more precisely estimated the consumption of my system: the max output current is less than 500mA, and when the system goes into standby (to preserve the duration of the battery), the current consumption goes down to 1mA; which is the efficiency of MP2313 in such condition?

Do you think another of your part number is more suitable for this kind of application?

Thank you! Kind regards

Hi @a.rigoli,

Please correct if I understand this correctly.

You’re powering MP2313 from a 7.2V nominal battery pack. The output is 3.3V @ 500mA (max)?
My question is how is the system going into standby mode?

If it is in stand by mode, it is my understanding that the converter (MP2313) is will be “off”? So the efficiency would not matter here since the converter is not operating.

Please let us know.

Thank you.
