Hello support-team,
I want to use MP175 in a non isolated buck converter with a supply-voltage range from 50…850VDC. Do you have any ideas to increase the input voltage range by adding external parts?
Many thanks for your support!
Best regards,
Michael
Hi @michael.hopf,
MP175 has integrated 700V MOSFET, so it cannot be extended externally. However, we do have flyback that can handle 900V. HF900 can be one option.
What is the application? Will Flyback work for you?
You can find more products here.
Thank you

Well if you are desparate, you might consider trying a cascode configuration. So pick a suitable FET 1000V 1A put the source on the drain of 175, put the drain on the 850V Vin, and put the gate on Vcc of the 175. It is a handy trick and sometimes it works. Never tried it with this IC
The problem is going to be the startup you have to charge Vcc some other way than via the onboard FET that connects Drain to Vcc. Also there could be issues with minimum ON time, whole host of other potential problems.
