MP023 Is not working

Good day,

we made a new design of an AC/DC converter but we faced some issues. At the first startup, our fuse is tripped and we are trying to understand if we made a design mistake somewhere.

Please check the attached schematic. J3/4/5 are wire jumpers at the moment. F1 is tripped as soon as we power the board, and no load is connected.

We made a few design adjustments after re-calculation of the transformer (72:9:9) using the calculator document. These changes are:

  • R13/14 are 27/14K
  • R10 removed, R11 is 0.64 Ohm (we are trying to get 12V@1A output)

Any suggestions on what could be wrong?

Hi @pulse-prototyping,

I would double check the fuse rating and see if it can handle the input specs.
If you observe no errors while using the design file, then it should be able to work.
Additionally, can you please verify with the changes you have made, it works on the EVB?

Hello Saurabh,

the SF-2410SP100W-2 fuse is rated for 1A, I assume that the startup current of the no-loaded circuit should be less than that?
