mEZDPD3603A-0001 Enable voltage

I’m planning to use the mEZDPD3603A-0001, with an input voltage between 20 and 30V.
I want to use the enable to swich on and off the buck. Especially during system startup it’s important that the buck doesn’t start up yet, because the Enble is not properly defined.

In the mEZDPD3603A-0001 datasheet I don’t find very clear pointers what defines a proper ‘low’ or ‘high’ for the Enable pin. Looking at the DIY8883GQ datasheet, I think i can deduct the following:

  • ‘Low’ (Buck disabled) : VEN < 1V
  • ‘High’ (Buck enabled): VEN > 1.4V, or Enble pin is ‘Open’ / ‘Z’.
Is this correct? I’m concerned when I for example connect 3.3V to the EN pin, there’s still internal leakage, because it expects something much closer to Vin.

I’m looking to replace a Murata Buck with this MPS buck because I suspect the Enable implementation for the mEZDPD3603A better suited to my product specification. But I need to have some confirmation, or else will have to make work with the Murata Buck.
Thanks.

It looks like this module uses the DIY8883 chip. If you look at that datasheet, it tells you that the EN has a 1Mohm pull down to ground, and the default turn on threshold is 1.4V ( max).

So it is intended to be controlled by 3.3V logic and it looks like the current draw should be low.
It is however not what you say, EN open = OFF. Get one and play with it.
