Magalpha sensors in Side shaft orthogonal position

The magnetic simulation tool setup implies that any side shaft capable sensor can be used in side-orthogonal position. Is that true? How is that possible with a 2-D sensor?
We are looking to use the MA736 in sideshaft orthogonal position, and would like confirmation from MPS that this orientation is OK before continuing mechanical design.

Yes, our magalpha sensors can be used in side-orthogonal position.
