MA780 - zero setting

Hello,
I am new with magnet angle sensors - never used such sensors. I have a question about zero setting.

As I understand, it is possible to read current angle and then it is possible to write the value in registers 0:1 (Z).
How this value is used? Does this value is used internally by MA780 to subtract it from actual angle and the present the difference to applications when they read angle by command “000”. Or may be this value is used by applications to make subtraction themselves?

Regards,
Ivan

Hello Ivan,
The MA780 internally subtracts the content of the zero setting register to the raw angle and delivers this value to the external device. The user does not have to worry about subtracting the zero himself.
Best regards,
Serge

Thank you for the answer.
It means that after setting the zero position in 0:1 (Z], we have a virtual zero angle and subsequent readings are with respect of this virtual zero.

Ivan.
