Hello,
We are developing a single cell 5V power supply and we need some recommendations regarding which IC to use and any possible reference designs.
Project requirements are as follows.
- The power supply uses a single LiFePO4 cell as its power source.
- On its output it must provide a stable 5V with a maximum load current of 1 A.
- The output must be stable even with no load attached.
- The cell must be charged from a 5V source.
- The power supply is disconnected from the load when charging so simultaneous discharging and charging is not necessary.
- The power supply must have a simple capacity indication.
- The power supply must have protection features to prevent cell damage, or any other component damage.
- The IC must be stand-alone, no supervisor MCU is present.
Please let me know your suggestions on how we can achieve the above requirements in the most straightforward way possible.
From my search so far, I have found MP2632B to be the best candidante. If supports charging and boosting to 5V and it has 4 LED capacity indication. However, I do not understand if this IC will charge a LiFePO4 cell which has a voltage range of 2.5~3.65 V. Can you help me here? Will MP2632B work, or can you suggest an alternative which has the same functionality and LED indication, but can work with LiFePO4?
Thank you and best regards,
