Kintex-7 FPGA GTX

Hello!
I used your reference design to powering a Kintex-7 FPGA.
Used 8 GTX in Kintex-7 FPGA.

The maximum output current of the MP2002 is 0.5A. VMGTAVVCC and VMGTAVVTT consumption in Vivado Report are 0.992W (0.124W x 8) and 0.568W(0.071W x 8) respectively. Approx. 0.95A and 0.48A respectively.
I ask for an alternative solution for powering Kintex-7 transceivers.

MPS solutions are only suitable for powering 2-3 FPGA transceivers.

Dear MPS engineers, please review the Kintex-7(and Artix-7, and Virtex-7) power solution! The current consumption for the VMGTAVCC and VMGTAVTT supplies does not correspond to the actual current. The number of transceivers may vary.

Hi,

MPS power modules can be used when higher current, low noise rails are needed. By adding additional output capacitance or an optional passive filter, they can provide very low ripple (<1mV) suitable for powering analog rails while being much more efficient than linear regulators.

For design details, you can refer to this article on RFSoC power design.. Additional details for the reference design can be found here: PowerPoint Presentation

Since you only need 1A max, you can use the MPM3822C 2A module.

Thanks,
Forest
