Is MP3431 a drop in replacement for MP3432?

We were using MP3432 in our production and it seems to be a shortage of MP3432 now. Is MP3431 a drop in replacement of MP3432 IC ? Are there any differences ? Can MP3431 be used instead of MP3432 ?

Hi John,
Yes, the MP3432 is a drop-in replacement of MP3431.

The main difference is the pass-through mode in MP3432. Please refer to datasheet on pg 16 to read further on the Pass-Through Function in PSM mode.

Hi
Thanks a lot for the reply.
My query was, can MP3431 be used instead of MP3432 ?

Hi Nouman,
Can I use MP3431 in place of MP3432 ?

Hi John,
My apologies, Yes, you may use MP3431.

Thanks a lot for the confirmation.
What are the major differences if we use 3431 in place of M432 ?
Is the pass through mode the only difference ?

MP3432 is an optimized version of MP3431, therefore, while also providing the performance characteristics of MP3431, it has added capabilities.

The major difference would be the pass through mode and the added margin of Iq current as well.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.

If the input is close to 12V and the programmed output is 12.2V, will it cause a problem in MP3431 ?
