IB pin connection of MP2636GR-Z

I use MP2636GR-Z in order to charge 1-cell Li-On rechargable battery. I connected IB pin to ADC of mcu. IB pin is also connected to GND through 2.49k resistor and uf capacitor like typical application in datasheet. The raw data value of ADC is 23 in charge mode. The value 23 is not meaningful.

Datasheet says, VIB=0.36xIbatt. If it is 0.023, charging current should be 0.06A but the battery charge time is not too long and battery charge current is set with Rıset=47.5k = 2.5A.

How i can properly measure battery charge current in this situation? Which value should i see in IB pin?

Hi Abdullah,

Looks like you are measuring the voltage at the IB pin at the pin of the IC. Our typical applications have measurement on the other side of the resistor. What is the measured voltage at the other side of the resistor?

Additionally, is the 23-value obtained from the ADC a digital value? Has there been any processing done to this value to represent it as a voltage?

Hello @abdullahkomurcu532,

Welcome to MPS forums. The battery charge current is set by the external sense resistors RS1 and Riset. The IB pin provides the real-time battery current and Vfb is a fraction of battery current. When mentioned Vib = 0.023, is the voltage measured at the pin IB or at 2.49k resistor?
