How should I set the timer capacitor value in MP2165C?

Hi, I’m using MP2615C for charging dual batteries, and the name of the battery I’m using is INR21700-50E.

According to the battery datasheet, it’s standard charging time is 4hours.
And also according to the datasheet, they define the ‘Standard charge’ means "charging the cell with charge current of 0.5C (2,450mA) and constant voltage 4.2V and 0.02C(98mA) cut-off in CV mode at 23°C. "

I want to match the standard charge time 4 hours to my circuit, but I think there’s a problem.
You know, in MP2615C datasheet, typical value of CC current is 2.1A.
Because the charge current is different (2450mA vs 2100mA), I don’t think the CC/CV mode charge time formula (t=6.28*C) can apply to this situation.
So, can you advise to me how much value should I set for the timer capacitor?

Hello, just looked into this request again, thank you for your patience here.

The MP2615C can’t reach a charge current of 2.45A because the charge current tops off at 2.1A, meaning that you can’t match the battery’s standard charge current or time.

This means that your actual charge time will be longer than the battery’s specified 4 hours where in actuality it would take 4.6 - 5 hours. To use the maximum capable current at 2.1A, you can set Ct = 0.82uF for 5 hours.

If you want a higher charge current for a faster charge, consider the following options:

Hopefully this helps.
