We tested the evaluation board EV3428A-L-00A with various load currents at an input voltage of 3.3V and noticed that when the load current exceeds 250mA, the output voltage dropped below 12V.
However, as per the evaluation board specifications, it should deliver a 12V, 2A output using a 3.3V input.
Could you please provide your suggestions?
Attached is the test results. When the load current exceeds 250mA, the output voltage decreases. Please provide your suggestion.
Hi,
First I think you should make sure that this IC is good now. You can check the SW node voltage using scope for Vout=12V conditions and Vout<12V conditions. I think it is the IC problem. It should work for Iout>250mA. I think change a new IC will solve this problem.
If you still have problems, kindly reach out to MPS NOW Remote Support - Support .

We are seeing this same thing on 2 seperate brand new 3428 eval boards I don’t think it’s a bad IC
