Hi,
I am working with design of DC-DC Buck converter. I have used MPQ1923GR as my gate driver for the application. Could you please verify if the design is okay.
Hello,
Welcome to the MPS Forum!
I see you’re working to implement a Gate Driver for a DC-DC converter. In reviewing your schematic, I have some notes:
- Remove decoupling capacitors from INH (pin 5) and INL (pin 6). Since these are control signals, the capacitors will filter the AC portion of the control signal and will result in a DC value at the INH and INL pins.
- No need for extra 0.1uF capacitors between SW and BST. 1uF should be sufficient for most applications.
- I would suggest adding a 0-ohm resistor in series with the bootstrap capacitors. If ringing is present, adding a series resistor will reduce the turn on time of the FET’s and reduce ringing/EMI.
- Turn-off diode circuit at the DRVH and DRVL pins OK.
Lastly, ensure SW node is connected between HS and LS FET and DC Power to the drain of HS FET.
