Design of a DC DC buck converter based on MP9473GL-Z

Hi,

I’m working on my first design for a device powered by a rechargeable 14.8V battery, and I have a few questions about the design.

Using the DC-DC Designer Online tool, I’ve selected the MP9473GL-Z, which I believe suits my requirements. My input voltage will range from 24V to 14V, and I need a 12V output.

When the device is charging, the input will be a stable 24V. However, when it’s not charging, the input will come from the 14.8V battery, which could drop below this voltage as the battery discharges.

Could you please review my design and let me know if it meets my requirements?

Thank you so much!

Jon

Hello Jon,

To achieve a 12V output you would need to adjust your feedback resistor ratio.

I would more closely follow our evb in terms of input and output capacitors for best results. I have included a screenshot and link to it for your reference: EV9473
