Hi, I have an inquiry about using one of your Battery Management chips to charge a Li-ion battery pack consisting of 2P or 4P connected cells. Should I go with one of your single cell solutions given that it can provide enough current for my case, and I’ll be using a 5V power supply to charge the cells. In addition, should I worry about balancing the cells when they are charged since the charging chip normally expects one cell not more.
And one last question is about adding a fuel gauge chip, do you have a solution that can be implemented for my use case?
Thank you!
Hello,
We currently do not have a solution for a single cell fuel gauge.
It is not uncommon for applications to have 2S2P or 1S3P configurations for battery packs. It depends on the application. I think it would be OK to implement. You can look into linear chargers we offer or single cell switching chargers.
Best,
