Best magnet orientation for side-shaft magnet ring with MP600A

Hi,

I would like to double check what is the best magnetisation option when using the MA600A sensor in a side-shaft mounted setup, i.e.

From the image above it seems like the field lines linking the radial faces are most important which would lead me to choose the “radial multipole magnet rings” option below.

However, you could also imagine the “face multipole magnet rings” option also working if the sensor was placed directly underneath the face instead of off to the side.

Do you have advice on which option would work best?

Hello Andy,

As you said, both options could work with an appropriate sensor placement, but I would recommend radial multipole magnets, because they make the sensor placement more straightforward.
