Analysis and Modeling Method for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) of Flyback converterr

Hello everyone.
Thank you for your ideas in advance. I have a question related to this.
Please tell me how to apply this method to a flyback converter.

Hello @matsukawa,

Welcome to MPS forums. Implementing synchronous rectification by adding a MOSFET at the output can help in minimizing EMI issues. Please have a look at the following article

Hello Saquib.
This is Matsukawa.
Thank you for your detailed reply.
My idea is that it is possible to predict radiated noise in flyback converters by referring to the article below.

In my opinion, a flyback converter transformer is added to the equivalent circuit shown in Figure 2.
In that case, should I convert the circuit by converting the secondary side of the transformer to the primary side?

Hello @matsukawa,

I believe swapping the transformer windings won’t yield the same results as the original configuration. Different source of EMI for flyback like transformers leakage inductance, common mode and differential mode currents generated in primary and secondary circuit which depend on their respective control circuitry and turns ratio. The EMI filter inductors also contribute to radiated emissions as it leads to add inductance, leading to more leakage flux.
Please note the method described in fig 2 is verified for non isolated converters.

Saquib
