Hello,
Looking at the EVQ6615-QK-00A, it has a 470pF charge pump cap. However, the data sheet recommends a 0.1uF cap in Table 4. Wondering why the eval board does not use the value recommended in the data sheet. Which value should I use?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
Hello Mark,
Overall, the charge pump in the context of an H-Bridge DC Motor ensures the high side and low side FETs are able to deliver 100% duty cycle support, which optimizes efficiency. The following image from the EVQ6615-QK-00A has a charge pump capacitance of 470nF. With that being said, the eval board is driven to a specific output voltage and the 470nF cap is picked to maximize the showcased efficiency of the part.

However, the MP6615 is a more general sense and therefore should handle a wider range of output driving voltages. Since the MP6615 datasheet is meant to handle a higher breadth of applications, it would be best to defer to 0.1uF.

Hope this helped,
Krishan
