I’m planning to have a buffer for my system. Most likely consisting of Supercaps in either series or parallel connection. What is a suitable topology for that?
MP3423 can do the job very well for a 5V rail - this boost converter is supplied from the output, so if we boost a 2.7V supercap voltage to 5V output, we can get down to ~0.6V of capacitor voltage and use the energy to boost our 5V with up to 3 or 4A easily.
