Is there a way to read back the original offset angle written to reg 0 and 1.
When I read back the register it gives the current angle as determined by magnet position, not the original value.
Is there a correct way of getting the original value.

The zero setting register should not be changing. Please confirm that your code is not overwriting that register. You can use the Macom EV Kit Software to check.
